Anime World Order Show # 102b – Ya Gahtta Have thah Haaht of thah Gunpla

For the final segment of Show 102, Gerald reviews Model Suit Gunpla Builders Beginning G, which for brevity’s sake we’ll just call “Gunpla Builders,” and continues to bombard us with trivia questions. Our guest remains Erin Finnegan, who is very displeased that we did not inform everyone that ERIN EDITED THIS PODCAST. Well, she did! (And then we edited her edit, since we always edit everything in two passes around here anyway.)

The new issue of Otaku USA is out, featuring Daryl’s cover story on Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: The Sacred Star of Milos. And his feature on Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle. And by no means can you skip over his review of Golgo 13 TV: Collection 3! On the website, you can read his supplemental companion piece to that Golgo 13 TV writeup, his review of the mighty OAV, Golgo 13: Queen Bee.

Incidentally, since Daryl never answered his own question regarding favorite anime seen in 2011, while he’ll echo the previous responses of Redline, Tiger and Bunny, and Kaiji Season 2 he also thinks quite highly of Mazinkaiser SKL, Macross Frontier Movie 2: Wings of Goodbye, X-Men, and the latest episodes of Gundam Unicorn that the rest of the Internet hates.

This podcast is not going to appear in iTunes or the Feedburner RSS until around 6:00 PM EST because after all these years we’re still incapable of setting things up so that the RSS feed is automatically generated by the blog. Oh sure, we have the “Podcasting” plugin installed. That’s how you can see the Flash player anyway. But that doesn’t let us include a custom description for the feed item. UNACCEPTABLE. (Actually, we could probably do it with custom fields, but we don’t know how. Or how to import existing manually-generated XML data.)

Anime World Order Show # 102a – Subatomic Trivia Skirmish 9001

We missed a month. And another. We thought we could quickly record something where we just read emails. We were wrong. Gerald and Clarissa recorded in the same room, so the sibilance on those “s” sounds is much higher than normal. Every once in a while there’s an echo. As such, any promises by Gerald of reviewing Gunpla Builders made at the start of this recording shall remain lies until the release of the second half of this recording. Unbeknownst to the rest of us, Gerald instead deployed a series of anime trivia questions of his own devising upon our unsuspecting selves. The results…are as follows.

This is a pale shadow of the Atomic Trivia War 9000. Did we forget to mention the recording ended up being three hours? We split it into two for ease of listening; this is Part One and Part Two will follow next week or so. We also forgot to mention that our special guest host is Erin Finnegan, whom nobody would know about were it not for us mentioning her a lot and conscripting her for Otaku USA (new issue’s out soon!), thus making her cool enough to become the writer of Shelf Life for ANN. At least, that’s OUR version of history.
