Here’s an interview we conducted with veteran anime voice actor and ADR director Richard Epcar at Florida Supercon 2008. Some of his more notable roles include Batou from Ghost in the Shell, Jigen from the Geneon dubs of Lupin the Third, Guld Goa Bowman from Macross Plus, Hiko Seijuro from Rurouni Kenshin, and Coach Kamogawa from Hajime no Ippo. That’s not even scratching the surface.
This interview also doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface, since Richard Epcar’s got tons of stories to tell. Be sure to check him out if he’s at a convention near you! At about 30 minutes, this might be the very first AWO release that falls within conventional accepted guidelines for podcast length!
Show 71 will be released hopefully within the next week.
Kamagowa FUCK YEAH!
BAD ASS!!! I’m excited about Monster. JEBUS TAKE THE WHEEL! Get this on television!
I’m surprised you didn’t ask him about working on God Hand (although I guess he only cast it). I’ll be interested to hear his take on Lunge.
Wow, the fact that Bobobo outtakes were publicly shown and I wasn’t there is tragic. If you see him again, ask him if he could put those clips up somewhere and what kind of funny stories went into the insanity that was that dub (and if Philece Sampler ever pulled an Excel Saga and strained her vocal cords from yelling).
I’m surprised he mentioned going to Israel because when I was there I noticed that he was doing the english dubbing for some of the tours.
This is as subtle way as I’ve ever heard such huge news unleashed. So when are the details coming out? Otakon? The word must be spread.
I don’t understand. Florida supercon happend back in May, so how come you guys didn’t mention Monster in any of the following shows? Did he take back it all back and decided that it was infact all top super secret after the interview had ended or something?
Not only that, I’m not sure why websites like Anime News Network hasn’t reported on this. Weird. But still, I’m very exited; this show deserves to be on one of the Big 3 networks!
OMG I actually squealed out loud over the monster news. It’s about time too.
Oh and I second it being put on TV, that would rock.
